1882年（明治15年）に板垣退助は自由民権運動の中、自由党を敵視する暴漢に襲われ、その際「板垣死すとも自由は死せず」と叫んだそうですが、国民の生活状況が極度に悪化し、政治家を含む一部の者が得をするような「不公平」な社会状況が生まれる時に、このような暗殺事件が必然的に発生する。
実際的に、今のアメリカ社会は「不公平」という混乱の状況にある。ロシアはもちろん言うまでもないが、我々の住む日本社会の状況も安倍暗殺事件があったように、政治家は自己の既得権を求めるのではなく、国民全体の奉仕者として働かねばならない。しかし、昨今の総理退任劇を見ると誠に情けない思いがする。

| 本文 | Charlie Kirk, a conservative political activist and co-founder of Turning Point USA, has died after being shot at an event at Utah Valley University, President Donald Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. He was 31. As Trump remade the Republican Party, Kirk embodied the party’s newfound populist conservatism in the social media age. Trump has credited Kirk with galvanizing and mobilizing the youth vote for him. “No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie,” the president wrote. “He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us.” Kirk’s sudden death Wednesday sent shockwaves across the political spectrum, with Republicans and Democrats calling for an end to political violence at a time of heightened concern about deadly attacks and the targeting of public officials. |
